The CGSC Foundation and the Kansas City Friends of Fisher House have teamed up to host the Frontier Freedom 5K race at 8 a.m., on Oct. 9, 2022. The public is invited to participate in the race which will start and finish at the Frontier Army Museum.

The race will take runners/walkers on a route that weaves through the historic Fort Leavenworth post. All race participants will receive a custom race shirt and compete for age group and overall awards.

Funds raised from the race will support the education and welfare of U.S. and international students, staff, and faculty of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and our military, veterans and their families while residing at the Fisher House located on the Kansas City VA Medical Center campus.

This is a family friendly event – strollers and pets are welcome.

For members of the public that DO NOT have a DoD/CAC ID card, please follow the instructions below to gain access to Fort Leavenworth on race day.

INSTRUCTIONS TO GET THROUGH THE FORT LEAVENWORTH GATE FOR FRONTIER FREEDOM 5K REGISTRANTS WHO DO NOT POSSESS A DOD/CAC ID CARD

To access Fort Leavenworth you must submit an email no later than Oct. 6, 2022 (the earlier you send the better) to the Access Supervisor Mr. Lonnie Price. Mr. Price and his staff will run a check and create an access pass for you that you can pick up in the far right-hand lane of the main entrance to Fort Leavenworth on Sunday morning.
